Sky News host Peta Credlin says free speech is something which has been protected in blood by past Australian generations, but sadly the people of today take it for granted and fail to defend it.

“Even in my lifetime the change in what we can say, write, even read has been diminished,” Ms Credlin said. “And the threat just seems to be accelerating. “Free speech isn’t free, it’s something that’s been protected in blood by Australians in generations past who have fought in our name. “To give us the sort of liberty today – free speech today – that sadly I think many of us take for granted, and even worse are failing to defend.

” Ms Credlin spoke with Tasmanian Senator Claire Chandler, who was hauled in front of the Tasmanian Equal Opportunity Commission after publishing an article about what she labelled the “reality of biological sex”. “I’m certainly not going to be backing down on my views around women’s sports and women’s sex-based rights,” Ms Chandler said. “Nor will I be apologising for holding a view and advocating a view that the majority of Australian’s agree with.

Wow. Her 20 viewers must be frothing at the mouth......

SookyBlessingtn Not here Peta. With you all the way!

She chose to defame with lies and this time she suffered the consequences.

I hope we aren't pretending that Peta Credlin is even remotely a 'free speech warrior.'

Funny how 'free speech' has become about 'listen to ME' & shouting down or belittling any opposition instead of allowing ALL voices to be heard. *Don't Expect All To Want To Listen Though

what a lot of rubbish _ she had the freedom to express that nonsense - what Skynews and Cretin don't like is the freedom of rebuttal to their opinion.

We see her words plastered all over the internet, and even though most of us ardently wish she'd realise that her views are not worth expressing or being heard, we uphold her right to speak them. If only if she were as concerned about the corruption of democracy by NewsCorp

All_4justice Credlin got no credibility 💯

I'd think you are confusing the right to free speech and the right to have non-evidence based damaging free speech amplified and legitimised, but I know you are a smart person. You know the difference. You are manipulating emotions for your own agenda. It does no-one a service.

It's great to see Peta Credlin championing the free speech rights of Julian Assange, Charlie Hebdo and Yassmin Abdel-Magied.

Sky News(?) Host PetaCredlin Says, look at me, lies lies lies adnauseam

the fact anyone ever hears from Credlin and Bolt etc is proof that free speech gets plenty of legroom in Australia

Nothing wrong with defending 'free speech' Except for the fact you use it for your hatemongering and spinning petty smear campaigns against LGBTQ rights, immigrants, scientists, refugees, etc And people also have free speech to tell you that you're full of bigotry and wrong.

The most frightening thing happening in Melbourne is the submissiveness of the population to simply accept & even support the 'official' narrative, giving a POLITICIAN unfettered power to change laws as he sees fit. I am appalled. melbournelockdown

So I'm not free to call PetaCredlin a brainwashed mole? Shit best I other ways to speak my mind, unfortunately I don't get paid to be a right wing media puppet. Oh & whilst I'm here FuckYou SkyNews 🖕🏻

So dramatic.

Inciting violence.

When free speech degrades to the point where it's a pack of lies & political propaganda, something has to be done about it, and those who propagate it -- like Murdoch's hacks.

Can I use my free speech to tell Peta Credlin to shut up?

Here we go, MurdochMinions have discovered the legal trickery of defence barristers, called the False Dilemma. This argues that the absence of something irrelevant counters the argument of solid evidence.

Tell Donald Trump that, and make sure he doesn't shut down TikTok and WeChat. That will only set a bad example for governments around the world, in taking away outlets for free speech.

we tend to tell dickheads to shut up with their inanities much more often

It's hard to speak when your nose deep. MurdochRoyalCommission MurdochMafia MurdochVirus

Sky news are owned & free speech is banned there it’s pure Murdoch propaganda

Our free speech is only implied It’s not a guaranteed right

downunderabc123 Thankyou sheeple.

Its happening all over the world.its time people wake up🧐🙄🤔

I would say some are hostile to free speach

same in the UK

Great pic thats how tony used to like cretin at the ironing board.
