Harry Potter author JK Rowling says she is returning a human rights award after the president of the organisation who gave her the honour criticised comments she made about transgender issues.J.K. Rowling was handed the award in December by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organisation

In the post on her website, the author said she expressed "solidarity with those who have contacted me but who are struggling to make their voices heard".
