High Court sets Aug 28 for decision on judicial review against Sri Ram’s appointment

Thursday, 30 Jul 2020 04:15 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 ― The High Court here today fixed August 28 to decide on a judicial review application by Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, to recuse Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram as the senior deputy public prosecutor in their respective cases. “Thomas resigned from the post after the government changed. If you have the AG himself who was political appointed, how about Sri Ram, as his misconduct had revealed in the affidavits of former AG Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.

Shamsul, in objecting the matter, said that the exchange of Whatsapp messages between Sri Ram and Mohamed Apandi as deposed in the additional affidavits took place well before Thomas was appointed as AG and Sri Ram's appointment as a senior DPP.
