Senior Pentagon officials, including Defense Secretary Mark Esper, are seriously concerned about the militarized appearance of police and other civilian law enforcement responding to recent protests (a previous tweet was incorrect and has been deleted)

The official said that one of the Pentagon's concerns is that law enforcement officers are wearing uniforms and using equipment that bear a striking resemblance to those worn by US troops in combat."Civilian law enforcement is sometimes dressed like the military. It confuses people. The public is led to believe that some of these civilian law enforcement units are military units instead -- they are not. We don't want that confusion," the official said.

"Top general apologizes for appearing in photo-op with Trump after forceful removal of protestersSome lawmakers have long criticized what they say is the militarization of police forces in the US, and many have called for an end to a long-existing program that transfers surplus military equipment such as armored vehicles, firearms, and night vision goggles to civilian law enforcement agencies.

You fight fire with fire libs

Well, you asked for it, so....

Here is a lesson apparently needed by everyone listed here CNN, the Senior Pentagon officials and the Defenses Secretary. The President is the Commmander and Chief of the Armed Forces given to him by The United States Constitution!!! He gets to call the shots y’all don’t.

They need amour! I'm concerned with Police safety.

When the word 'concerned' is backed by action I'll give a rat's ass when they use it.

So are they supposed to show up to an out of control protest in daily gear then say timeout and go change?

Yeah we are too.

They are breaking the law they are not peaceful protesters.

FakeNewsCNN

Senate Republican bucks party and president on law enforcement immunitySen. Mike Braun, a freshman Republican from Indiana, has introduced a bill he says will limit qualified immunity for police officers. Well his career is over If Congress wants to try and push bs laws like this, they should lose their protection. Now if he could only get the 53 other less reasonable senators to go along with him.

Supreme Court won’t revisit qualified immunity for police, leaving it to CongressSupreme Court officially passes on revisiting its 50-year-old doctrine of “qualified immunity” for law enforcement officers, despite intense national outcry over police misconduct and legal protections that shield cops from liability. ❤️ Apparently SCOTUS can’t read the room or the nation. Hey, have you guys reported on the massive increase of crime taking place in the DefundPolice 'hotspots' i.e. New York City, Seattle, etc?
