A federal judge is signaling that he may pursue perjury or contempt charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn

A federal judge is signaling that he might pursue perjury or contempt charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn over his effort to abandon an earlier guilty plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.

Gleeson, who was appointed to the federal bench in New York by President Bill Clinton and retired to enter private practice in 2016, has already staked out a position deeply skeptical of Attorney General William Barr’s decision to abandon the Flynn prosecution. The ex-judge co-authored“Government motions to dismiss at this stage are virtually unheard of,” Gleeson and his co-authors wrote in The Washington Post.

Flynn’s lead attorney did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment, but she did retweet a message noting the judge’s order and suggesting that he might have been acting at the behest of former President Barack Obama. With his guilty plea in December 2017 to a single, felony charge of making false statements to the FBI, Flynn became the only Trump White House official to face a criminal charge in the Mueller investigation.

In exchange for leniency, Flynn also agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and did so extensively — sitting for 20 interviews about a slew of different matters probed by Mueller’s team and other lawyers.

As a Dem all I see is a judge, who oversees daily people admitting to crimes they are not guilty of in order to avoid much longer prison sentences. Lol, so when a person DARES to withdraw such a fake confession they are faced w 'perjury'. Covid19 reveals corruption EVERYWHERE!

WOW, what a mess JOE BIDEN IS IN

I am beyond impressed and overly excited. The justice system actually can function; they way it's supposed to function. When criminals plead guilty, to avoid longer jail times. They can't get a brain fart, then lie to curry political favors. ACCOUNTABILITY!

Flynn pleaded guilty.

Isn't bankrupting the family and causing an innocent man to lose his house and livelihood enough?

I mean, he did admit to the crime...

Judge Sullivan has created his own little personal Dept of Justice, where he picks the defendants, the prosecutor, the charges, rules of law and the verdict. This is a violation of the US Constitution. Time to make Judge Sullivan cry.

So which lie are they going to nail him on? Lying under oath to the court that he lied? Lying now that he did not lie?

Yes, he lied about lying. New charges, new case. Not off the hook.

So they are going to get him for lying about lying, even when he way lying?

JoeIsMyMoniker I, uh...really

The perjury is obvious

That traitor should stay in jail

You mean justice is still a thing? Since Trump craps on the flag every day and wipes himself with the Constitution I just assumed we're now a banana republic. :-)

Let's get this Civil War started! Let the Fascists and the Feudalists finish eachother.

Dude can’t get out of his way

This is the USSR, apparently. We’ve got this though. Enough is enough.
