Former chief minister Yong Teck Lee says ex-law minister Liew Vui Keong got it wrong by claiming he had never been an MP. FMTNews YongTeckLee Sabah Gaya P150 1999

KOTA KINABALU: Former chief minister Yong Teck Lee offered a sarcastic “apology” to ex-law minister Liew Vui Keong who had accused him of not knowing parliamentary procedures after erroneously stating that Yong had never been an MP.

“Liew, the Warisan permanent chairman, has ridiculed me for being ignorant of parliamentary procedures because I have never been an MP before and that I had lost the Batu Sapi by-election.“At that time, I was a parliamentary colleague of his party president, Shafie Apdal,” he said in a statement here today.

Yesterday, Liew had defended Shafie after Yong accused the Sabah chief minister of putting Sabah’s ties with Putrajaya at risk by being involved in a bid to oust Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and replace him with Dr Mahathir Mohamad through a confidence vote.
