As the mystery deepens around the COVID-19 National Command Council, the presidency insists there's nothing untoward or illegal about both its establishment or modus operandi. Courtesy

JOHANNESBURG - As the mystery deepens around the COVID-19 National Command Council, the presidency insists there's nothing untoward or illegal about both its establishment or modus operandi.Several groups are gearing up to challenge the council’s powers and decisions in court.

The office of the President says a council of Cabinet ministers, joined by the chiefs of police and the army as well as a host of directors general, is nothing to worry about.Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance is having none of it.DA leader John Steenhuisen says,"we have to blindly trust a body called the National Command Council, a small group of ministers who don’t account to Parliament or anyone else.

The NICD has another Clinician Hotline to improve #COVID19 communication and support for healthcare providers. The Clinician Hotline is 0800 11 1131, operating 24 hrs. The Public Hotline is 0800 029 999 also operating 24hrs.

Yeah they acting in bad faith, performing constitutional rights violations and abusing power.

nixlogic Time is running out, yes they did participate in the apartheid era, they say they fought for freedom, but since that they are in charge, they practice tyranny! I am getting ready to put my life in the line fighting for the future of my kids, even if I may not be there!

Why isn't Cyril using the elbow handshake he invented?

The ANC is one big PR nightmare. They put a big red target on themselves.

I’m a 61 yr old SA. I can’t remember that the State of Emergency under Apartheid was so draconian as this lockdown? Am I wrong?

The ANC has lost sight of why we had a lockdown in the first place, it was only to slow the spread & buy time to prepare the hospitals & PPE’s, not to hide away from the virus and hope for the best!! endthelockdownSA DrZweliMkhize PresidencyZA CyrilRamaphosa

It's time to STOP this ANC and NCC DICTATORSHIP. Citizens of South Africa need to rise and take their country back. Will the REAL citizens of South Arica please stand up!!

Unfortunately, this is how the frog gets boiled. we've seen it across Africa, and guess what people, its not a colour that loses - The whole country loses. The communistnatiolancommandcentre cncc is an excuse to grab power where power could not be sought legally.

We gotta love Zuma 😂😂😂😂

Is this not a slap in the face to all who have died because of the dreaded virus?

It's about time south african citizens are reminded of their constitutional rights to freedom. That this is an attempt to impose a police state. This is not a test run. Fascism There is no deadly virus to be afraid of. Think immune responsibility Think biological function.

They useless cunz time to stop playing useless failed african dictator and lead the country

I am happy about this. Who is NCC who gave them so much power? Things we're better when all parties we're involved and voting on matters took place. Who elected NCC and on what grounds? BringBackParliament and all its members even if they can meet virtually to discuss and debate

Justification and a rational reasoning is what we call for.

Place: Union Building and Parliament Date: 15 May 2020, Friday Time: 10:00am lockdownMustFall BacktoSchool BackToWork level3 day45oflockdown Day46oflockdown Bring your anti lockdown posters!!!

Time to bring in other parties. The MYANC may be the majority party but this pandemic should not be politicised by excluding oversight. Time to start working WITH and FOR the people, GovernmentZA.

Just be honest with the people of South Africa about Covid_19sa and don’t change the rules like people change underwear as it is people are not listening and moving around like it’s level 1

We hear about court challenges but dololo action
