Women's Safety NSW chief executive Hayley Foster welcomed moves to update the law, but said she hoped any changes came with specialist training for law enforcement officers and the courts.
"Our concern is if we don't have a justice system that can understand the dynamics, it could backfire on the safety of women and children when they are trying to access protection."
I’d like to see mandatory jail sentences for anyone who make up false allegations against a partner. Then, and only then will you get men onboard to fight the issue of dv!
How about enforcing the laws we already have, DVO's are a joke - they are virtually meaningless and when people do commit acts of violence and rape the judges give them a slap on the wrist. New laws won't mean much if judges are just going to sentence people to minimal time.

If this is true then they should advise these women to go directly to police. Death threats are a criminal offence and should be treated as such. Fast track threats of violence to court. Slap a DVO on the assholes, put a real time tracking braclet on them and set up a text warning system for the woman of he gets within a certain distance, then chuck the prick in prison immediately if he breaches it.
