The European parliament has called on Michel Barnier to keep Britain permanently tied to its employment, environment and competition laws as the price for maintaining free trade with the EU.
So UK believes they are a special case? Other countries not part of the EU who sell to the EU must comply with EU standards for that product. It's simple. Did you really think that leaving would mean you don't have to comply?
Yeah here comes the dumbest possible result where the UK ends up basically having to follow all the EU rules without having any say in them.
*facepalm
Then there will be no trade deal. Demanding the UK follow EU rules on everything from employment law to tax regulations is not - by any stretch of the imagination - a 'normal' request to make in trade negotiations. This is an attempt by the EU to keep the UK under its control.
