Barry Loudermilk made a comparison between the Trump impeachment inquiry and the trial of Jesus in the Bible during the impeachment debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday

The Republican congressman argued that Pontius Pilate was more fair to Jesus than Democrats have been to the president. The debate will be followed by a vote on the articles of impeachment against Donald Trump.

My favourite Bible story is the one where Jesus dyes his face bright orange and then threatens the less fortunate with sanctions and withdrawal of aid if they don’t investigate the Romans.

For money or unreal power huh!He can sell his country and his religion! What a shame!!

That's blasphemy. What is wrong with the Christian Trump supporters? They should be calling out this rhetoric from Republicans

This is being reported in England. Make America Great Again? I think the whole Republican Party is trying to embarrass America as much as possible

'Trump did nothing wrong' 'You hate him from day one' 'He was dully elected' 'You're impeaching 63 Million voters' 'He's like Jesus'

what a freaking lunatic.

First it was Obama then Hillary and now Jesus Christ. What has Trump done to the GOP to get them to stoop this low?

The Republicans truly have lost their minds. Vote them out of office.

Este debe ser un telepredicador.

No shame. No. Shame.

Revolting

Falling on the deaf ears of atheists

Blasphemous

How can I trust this story when your piece on Michael Jackson was a one sided hit piece that skipped over all of the proven lies? What is the point of independent journalism when you clearly only cover what you want to cover and ignore facts. fakenews

As an atheist I find the implication, however tenuous, that Christ was a vicious, greedy, misogynistic, callous, self-centered, grossly unintelligent, vindictive, puerile, cowardly xenophobe intriguing as it is a total inversion of what I understand to be Christian beliefs.

This time last week we could have been smug but now we’ve placed our own future in the hands of a clown, it’s not funny anymore.

I’m so sick of these idiots! To whom are they speaking? Certainly not to intelligent, informed human beings! The public should feel offended by being taken for fools! Where in the Constitution is there mention of Jesus? Freedom of religion, separation of church and state Remember?

How exactly did we ever get to the point where people more suited to a soft walled room of small proportions end up in positions of power?

OMG that’s so anti-Christian ! Hope they throw the book at him -

MOre of this blasphemous conflation of Trump and Jesus by folks whose religion is found under the seats of their sofas.

Well, unlike Jesus, realDonaldTrump isn’t a fictional character but rather a corrupt guy on the verge to damage your democracy. ImpeachmentDay

I find that extremely offensive.

And what does he compare the children in cages to?

Republicans are blasphemous they will pay in the end the voters are listening

No Holocaust? Amateurs.

Crazy human being!
