Sen. Braun says he anticipates a trial of less than two weeks if no witnesses are called, but says 'defenders from the president's side... could actually make the case stronger for an acquittal.'

Senator Mike Braun joins Hallie Jackson on the eve of the House vote that will trigger a Senate trial to remove the President from office.

While he is effusive about the need for a short trial, after what he felt was a drawn out process in the House, he offers the opinion that a longer trial with many witnesses "could actually make the case stronger" for the president and lead to an acquittal.

There are a lot of respectful Republicans that are not going to go down with the ship. I have faith that they will do the right thing. They cannot be 'constutional conservatives' and turn a blind eye. Not this time, this President is not worth it.

House GOP leader open to more witnesses in impeachment trialAs the House prepares for a historic Trump impeachment vote, the Chairman of House GOP Study Committee and member of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Mike Johnson joins “The Beat.” MSNBC Chief Correspondent Ari Melber presses the Congressman about potentially illegal requests to investigate U.S. candidates and fact-checks claims that Ukraine received all the money Trump froze. AriMelber Mike Johnson also lied throughout that interview, so I wouldn’t trust a damn thing he says. AriMelber The House should have fought in the courts to get them during their deposition process. There is no way executive privilege can be magically waived at this point in the process. So now they wont have them as witnesses and their obstruction charge is moot. Hacks.
