Agbakoba writes Buhari, makes demand

He expressed excitement over the creation in the Act of the Nigerian Non-Custodial Service which is responsible for the administration of non-custodial measures including community service, probation, parole, restorative justice measures etc.

“However, we are concerned that the National Committee on Non-Custodial Measures has not been appointed in line with Section 37 of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act 2019. He said: “Nigerian prisons are constituting a serious menace to society instead of rehabilitating offenders and reintegrating them back into the society for better living.
