Chairman of the Human Rights Foundation Garry Kasparov calls the decision an 'unacceptable appeasement'.

Apple has been condemned for listing Crimea as part of Russian territory in its mapping and weather apps.

The region was controversially annexed by Russia in 2014 but is still recognised by the majority of nations as part of Ukraine. When viewed from Russia, the peninsula is now shown as Russian territory on Apple Maps and the Weather app.It also categorises Crimea as part of Russia when users search in the Apple Weather app.

The change was confirmed by the Russian parliament's lower house, which wrote in a statement that the former"inaccuracy" had been"finally removed" and the apps were now complying with Russian law.Ukraine's Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko blasted the decision, telling Apple to"stick to high-tech and entertainment".

Shame

Yeah well it is

Hitlers takin' it back anytime now ...

Apple simply adapted their app to oblidge the Russian market. It's not about wanting to do it or not, but Russia is a big market. Why lose it when you can simply obidge to the Russian claims on your apps when viewed from Russia? Not like it shows Crimea separated elsewhere

That's Labor.

Apple is a mutinational entity. Now just a political animal.

Sick. Just as good as praising terroists

Are Apple appeasing Russia. Ukraine, or Trump

It is, they had a referendum and voted overwhelmingly to join Russia.

Crimea is still part of Ukraine I know it's been disputed since Russia 'annexed' it but it's still part of Ukraine

I never liked apple

Apple is orange
