Osun: Cannabis lands 19-year-old boy in prison

A Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Wednesday remanded a 19-year-old boy, Lateef Adekunle, in Ilesha Correctional Center for allegedly in possession of substance suspected to be cannabis, popularly called India hemp.

The prosecutor, Idowu Rachael, informed the court that the accused person committed the crime on November 4, 2019 at Owode Market, Okuku town, in Osun state. He added that the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 249 of the criminal code cap 38c law of Osun State.The magistrate, Mrs Risikat Olayemi, therefore, ordered that the accused should be remanded at Ilesa correctional centre till November 11, as she transferred the case to Okuku magistrate court.
