The Trump administration is relying on the slower pace of the court system to stymie the impeachment inquiry.

The Trump White House’s legal strategy to keep top officials from testifying in impeachment proceedings is now focused on exploiting the slow pace of the legal system.

Six White House and administration officials were called to Capitol Hill to testify this week, yet none are expected to appear, according to administration officials and attorneys for a handful of these officials. Any hiccup in the impeachment proceedings, which will include public testimony in the House followed by a trial and vote in the Senate, also threatens to overshadow the early presidential contests in Iowa and New Hampshire — drawing valuable public attention away from Democratic contenders, including several sitting senators. The Iowa caucuses are scheduled for Feb. 3, 2020.

Developed by DOJ lawyers, the argument serves as the legal underpinning for White House aides refusing to testify. Attorneys for Kupperman, Bolton and Eisenberg have said the three men would testify if the courts compel them to do so — though that resolution could take months.Leaning so heavily on the power of the executive branch is not without its own risks, say constitutional experts and lawyers.

The Constitution also does not extend executive privilege to instances that involve potential abuses of power, said Michael Gerhardt, an impeachment expert at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Courts are notoriously slow.

But the fact that that a President is facing an impeachment inquiry is enough to show that he is a bad leader.

The House Dems can vote for their faux impeachment anytime they want. Who are you kidding? Schiff thinks getting depositions on how someone feels or harassing people is going to get the Senate to convict Trump?

I'm thinking HouseDemocrats are about to eat their own! That's what I would do to save my own neck.

Fake News

Stalling is not new for Trump's impeachment. This is modus operandi for every case involving his attorneys. Tie cases up in court, stall and delay as long as possible.

Hope he's ready to be booted out

Any dirty trick he can pull, expect him to try.

Everything Trump can do to stall his impeachment proceedings until after the 2020 election is going to be done. He is also hoping he can get the case in front of the Supreme Court because he feels he controls the court and he will get a favorable ruling from them.

Why he doesn't care about slowing things down The Senate stupid, fake news for sheep.
