Lawyers for the ex-chairman of Nissan Carlos Ghosn have applied for criminal charges against him in Japan to be dropped, claiming he is the victim of a conspiracy.
Papers filed in the Tokyo District Court on Thursday claimed that the financial misconduct charges he faces were the result of collusion between authorities and the company to stop his plans for a deeper tie-up with alliance partner Renault.
