The world’s biggest Bollywood distributor, Lulla is not based in India. His Eros’ legal seat is in the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea, and it has a New York share listing, with a distribution network that extends across 50 global territories, including being in the forefront of Indian cinema’s entry into the Chinese market. Only Hollywood studios have wider releasing networks.
Lulla has leveraged that strength, taking the group into finance, production and proprietary VOD platform Eros Now, which has some 100 million registered users, including 8 million paying subscribers. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries has a 5 percent stake in Eros. The company was accused of misrepresentation of revenues and library in 2015, but the easygoing Lulla laughed it off
