Sky News host Peta Credlin says a "mad" court decision now means Australia doesn’t just need to limit its own carbon dioxide emissions, but must also take active steps to limit other countries’ emissions too. Ms Credlin was critical of a recent decision by the NSW Land and Environment Court to essentially block a new coal mine because it would lead to more emissions in the countries that burnt Australian coal.

“As mad as it seems, this is exactly what this particular court, this activist court, has recently declared,” Ms Credlin said. One reason for the refusal of the Rocky Hill mine at Gloucester by the Independent Planning Commission was reported to have been due to its potential to produce ‘Scope 3 emissions’. Ms Credlin said she will “believe the world is serious on Paris, when the world, and not just us, actually do something.

When was their Exxon moment?

slpng_giants_oz the only madness is people like credlin and bolt who are unable to understand science here is Australia's contribution to climate change per capita and guess what we are the top of the list

Last time i checked australians dont get any benefit from these mines, except for the tiny amount of people employed and sometimes, a miniscule amount of tax. They are owned by billionaires, most of them american, indian, or chinese. On that basis a dont give a rats arse.

Stupid woman still grieving Abbott’s loss.

klimateklowns

So a semi educated talking head talking about subject she has no clue about , yep sky news

Lets do it. Shut down all fossil fuel power for two days....two days. And sit back as the chaos unfolds.

So global carbon will increase because less efficient coal will be burnt. Nice outcome.

Clarification: That is exporting to other countries not other planets. Global warming... It's a global problem

WE hear plenty about our emissions, but nobody tells us what our trees are pulling out of the atmosphere. C02 is 0.04%, the largest atmospheric gas is steam and we know what happens to that.

🙄 Yes, Peta will happily pretend that all other countries have some magic zero emissions voodoo to produce power from coal that eludes us. Should we kick off asbestos exports again too?

Oh PETA , this country is going to finish up with head injuries because of beating our heads against the brick wall

Oh cool. What’s her expertise again?
