host Ari Melber about what has changed in American culture since the film, which explored the circumstances leading up to the 1999 mass shooting at Columbine High School, was released in 2002.

Considering what has changed in American society, Moore said that — although there is a culture of fear — he feels many people have "decided" to be less afraid and that manifests itself by way of fewer households having guns. He pointed out that 78 percent of Americans do not own guns. have are owned by 3 percent of the population," he said, adding that many gun owners have between 8 - 22 weapons in their possession.

He talked about how he himself is a member of the NRA, understands the concept of defending oneself, target shooting and hunting, and even won a marksman award when he was in boy scouts as a teenager. He tends to agree with the NRA's stance that "guns don't kill people — people kill people," but believes it's more accurate to say, "Americans kill people."

Looking ahead to gun reform, Moore said that legislation must be passed and these inherent problems in American culture must be examined. He pointed out that there are problems with crime in other countries such as Canada, "but not on a monthly, weekly or day-to-day basis." He emphasized, "There is something in our American DNA that makes us very afraid," adding that people reach for weapons when they get angry.

And additionally, why is this almost strictly an American problem?

Why do people shoot each other? Well, greed, jealousy, anger, enjoyment, being paid for it... and sometimes is people not having their bananas in the right basket.

Overmedication of kids and breakdown of families.

Although I've disagreed with him a lot, he's got a point. It isn't beyond repairing.

Wouldn't that infringe on my right to take up arms against the Gov when they get too big for their britches?

Shouldn't he be worried about heart disease?

Criminals aren't going to willingly turn in their gun, Mikey. You intend to jail those that don't? You want the police, who you lefties have vocally expressed murderous disdain for, to go door-to-door and take them from them? Laughable. How do you intend to 'fix this?'

Michael Moore needs to shut his mouth and take a back seat. He's the reason people are killing each other---controlled opposition. STFD MM

Taking away the rights of innocent Americans does not 'fix' anything.
