An animal rights group has called for a roadside memorial to be erected as a tribute to a number of chickens killed when a truck caught fire on an Adelaide highway this morning.A number of chickens in the rear trailer of the truck were killedSA Police said a B-double truck carrying a load of chickens was heading south on the Northern Expressway about 4:00am at Andrews Farm when the driver was alerted to smoke coming from the rear trailer.
The driver was not injured, however, a number of chickens were killed in the fire and police said those that survived would be euthanised.said it had rushed a letter to the state's Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure , calling for it to approve a roadside tombstone in memory of the chickens killed.
I bet PETA doesn't know any of their names...
terrible event, but what memorial would you need to erect at the abattoirs?
there's a 'to get to the other side' joke in there somewhere.
How about a really big fibreglass pot of gravy
Will it come with fries
Is this really 'national news'
Chips would be appropriate 👍
Ring KFC.
What’s the story here Buzzfeed? Do something useful ABCaustralia, this click bait facile shit isn’t doing it for the people of Australia.
Bunch of nuggets
I know you are being tongue and cheek, but people like myself who eat meat rarely pay their respects to those who sustain us. There should be a memorial for animals who serve and sustain us. I think it would make us aware of how fortunate we are to be at the top. Never forget it
What about the anonymous kangaroos, wombats, snakes, galahs, lizards, emus, wallabies, possums, foxes that die on the roads daily & nightly? They will feel disrespected.
🤦♂️
Build a KFC on the site.
