CommentSavannah Behrmann, USA TODAYOctober 11, 2019WASHINGTON – 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke is being criticized by conservatives for his stance, expressed during CNN’s LGBTQ town hall Thursday night, on religious institutions and their tax-exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage.
"And so as president, we're going to make that a priority and we are going to stop those who are infringing upon the human rights of our fellow Americans," he continued.“You want a culture war in this country, you damn well have it,” conservative political commentator and the Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro responded.
Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump’s eldest son, also commented on O’Rourke’s statement, saying in a tweet that the “left and their agenda… only believe in religious liberty if it’s on their heavily dictated terms.” Franklin Graham, son of legendary late preacher Billy Graham, who is known as an evangelist, social conservative activist and supporter of President Trump, said he “will not bow down at the altar of the LGBTQ agenda nor worship their rainbow pride flag.”
.@BetoORourke is the most honest Democrat running for President – he admits they want to shut down churches if they don’t adhere to his beliefs.
Mega churches should be taxed and it has nothing to do with any LBGTQ...XYZ rights! These people prey on the weak minded and make them believe they will receive some type of salvation if they give them their hard earned money and it’s all tax free!
must be doing something right if conservatives don`t like it
He prays to HIS GOD SORORS
The irony of the Conservative reaction is a hilariously painful. 'I will not tolerate Beto's intolerance of my intolerance.'
