NBA pros have it especially good. In addition to having a higher average salary per player, they also make more money off the court than athletes in the NFL and MLB. That's partly because NBA players have a bigger fan base outside the US.
W/o reading, I would suggest it to be a 'visual' issue. U don't recognize a 'Selling Face' in a helmet or ball cap.
It only takes two people to play hoops so more people play it ...courts are plentiful and cheap to make....hence it's global popularity
