EXCLUSIVE: Jurors in former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger case speak to ABC News' marcusmoore about decision to sentence her to a decade behind bars. 'I think that was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.'

Two of the people who sat on the jury that sentenced former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger to a decade behind bars for killing an innocent man in his own home tell ABC News that coming to that decision was"one of the hardest things" they've ever had to do.

In an interview airing Friday on"Good Morning America," Juror 21 and 34, as identified by the court, revealed how they came to decide Guyger's fate. Guyger, who was fired from the Dallas Police Department weeks after the shooting, testified that she was"scared to death" because she thought Jean was an intruder.

marcusmoore Sadly this was not thwgrouo I hoped for but the only that could be expected if you could find an impartial...a sister look more concerned for her IG than her dutyand half ass white geek 🤦🏾‍♂️🤬🤡jurorpoolsucked ...JusticeForBotham

marcusmoore This is the dumbest thing I've seen, she fucking murdered a man in his own home! How is that the hardest thing ever?!?! She should've been sentenced to life or got the death penalty.

marcusmoore Bet if I killed a white girl it wouldn’t be the hardest thing ever to convict me

marcusmoore NOW it’s hard to convict murderers?

marcusmoore At least she was convicted. She murdered someone and should be treated just like anyone else would. No more white privilege. Police privilege.

marcusmoore This sentence is the result of white womens' tears.

marcusmoore FOH with that '28yrs was just too much' BS!😒

marcusmoore Then she should've pled guilty and save the tax payers money. I also think it was unprofessional for the judge to hug a convicted criminal.

marcusmoore HOW COULD SHE MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE

marcusmoore Huh Ppl are weird af these days🙄The duty at hand was to examine evidence and apply punishment that fits the crime. Not become a psychic & determine what you think the victim would want. FOH

marcusmoore I am pissed. What's in the water in Texas? Who knew mammy and c**n grooming was a cottage industry down there? 😡🤬

marcusmoore I see why im never on a jury. Not dumb enough to qualify. These two dummies!!!

marcusmoore My only questiin doe this black young woman is: how can you fix your mouth to say the case is different and isn't the same. Her self preservation of her job was the first thing she thought about, not saving his life. Don't look for support when it's you on the other end.

marcusmoore Look at the optics people, they are both in blue like they are sending a message of unity to the Police. I dont think this was coincidental. Like other comments, emotion should not have been a factor in their deliberation, yet it was allowed🤔🤔🤔

marcusmoore LookAtDustin these jurors are so so dumb! 🤦🏽‍♂️

marcusmoore Jurors are suppose to make decisions based on the law, not on what they think a deceased victim would've wanted . Pathetic

marcusmoore She sound so stupid and uninformed.

marcusmoore Five black jurors😳

marcusmoore I lived in a high rise & I can recall getting off on the wrong floor & going to the apartment below mine trying to get in w my key 🤦🏽‍♀️

marcusmoore Stupid mofos

marcusmoore If she wears a weave she for the Caucasian team

marcusmoore How about the same justice filled compassion for people who get longer sentences for non violent crimes then

marcusmoore BothamJean LIFE was worth MORE than the 10 years AmberGuyger received !

marcusmoore I wonder if these two know that Amber wasn’t on duty?

marcusmoore 🤮

marcusmoore Those who believe AMber G will only do 5 is mistaken. AG attorney’s have already submitted an Appeal which is likely to be successful due to a callous judge and jury. She will be out in a year and half with a book deal. karenhunter

marcusmoore CAFoulks 😳😳😒😒 I’m sooooo over everybody associated with this case

marcusmoore This is some BS.

marcusmoore Where was the mistake

marcusmoore

marcusmoore Literally sick to my stomach after watching this. Lord have mercy, my, sister! stockholmsyndrome

marcusmoore

marcusmoore What wrenched my heart were all the Black mom's outside the court room crying about the sons they lost. As one Mom said her son's cop shooter got 15 yrs but her son is gone. I feel the forgiveness may seem the right thing now but not feeling it from Mom and Daughter.

marcusmoore Wait!! Why is he calling him “Bo” like that’s his best friend Bruh, this is crazy. Then the other one gonna say AG showed remorse not like the other cops. Duh! She’s also the only one to kill a man in his own house on the couch off duty.

marcusmoore Every single one of those jurors are trash

marcusmoore How do u know wats a mistake...when u kill someone like this...it’s not a mistake...this girl lacks something very important...black lives matter!

marcusmoore These jurors probably got money

marcusmoore Jurors say they couldn't sentence her to 28 years. Why? Because she is a white female? That's the answer. If she were a black male, she would have been handed a life sentence.

marcusmoore CurtisScoon this might be the silliest thing I ever heard. Makes me sick to my stomach. Jurors shouldn’t be so emotional.

marcusmoore Now this I have a problem with. Esp when she said it’s not like other officers who when they get out get back to life.who is she talking about, cause they don’t even go in?!! Wasnt for them to think they knew Botham enough for what he would have done but to do what was just

marcusmoore Not myyyyyyyyy black ass😒

marcusmoore That chick is horrible!!!!

marcusmoore

marcusmoore This shit is scripted asf. Can I give her a hug please. Bruh for everyone protection they would not allow that. This some bs.

marcusmoore I just have no words.

marcusmoore They would have hated me as a member of the jury. They were all crying? It was a tough decision? It wouldn't have been me, sorry. BothamJean

How they gonna think for someone who already gone. She got off easy tbh. She ended a whole life and y’all feeling sorry? Yiiiiiiikes

marcusmoore

askjema marcusmoore Botham's mother spoke about ending corruption in the Dallas PD, and then her son says he doesn't think Amber Guyger should go to jail at all...what in the world

marcusmoore The man was murdered and she is receiving so much grace it’s disgusting she murdered Botham MURDERED

marcusmoore Who was the VICTIM!!! 😡

ReignOfApril marcusmoore This is some bs.

marcusmoore I'm done with this Case...She said a lot of crying....FOR WHO AMBER She sent racial text, family members have known white supremacist ties...BUT I'm done.. Whatever

marcusmoore This dude called him 'Bo'... fam get the fuck out of here.

marcusmoore This is Some Bullshit

marcusmoore Shonda rhimes' wet dream right here.

marcusmoore It was not a 'mistake.'

marcusmoore Damn they made her the victim.

marcusmoore She should have gotten at least 30 years without the possibility of parole

marcusmoore This is horrible. Amber is a racist who was telling the 911 operators that she was afraid to lose her job while the Botham was dying.

marcusmoore I'm so disgusted by this and truly ashamed of the young lady juror. His family will never see him again and they're concerned for her life.

marcusmoore Not your business what Botham would have done.

marcusmoore She showed remorse She didn't even bother to try and administer first aid to this man WHICH SHE'S TRAINED TO DO!! These two jururs should just stayed quiet, disgusting they didn't value his life more than hers!

marcusmoore I think they are conflating forgiveness with punishment. Yeah she deserves forgiveness , but actions have consequences.

marcusmoore There are people in jail for longer sentences and lesser crimes than this. I’m so disgusted!!!!

marcusmoore Pity the death chamber in Huntsville wasn't on the table. I'd have no problem giving her a adios hug on that last mile.

marcusmoore Hardest thing?! She should be locked up forever!!!

marcusmoore Americans never cease to amaze me.

marcusmoore Not at all surprised it’s a black women behind this cooning she probably feels so important sitting next to her master

marcusmoore Why was it so hard? She is a murderer.

marcusmoore The way these jurors talk Amber was the victim! My goodness this is ridiculous!

marcusmoore These two sound ridiculous..Botham Jean was murdered by her in HIS house..she deserves life in prison not sympathy

marcusmoore F both of them.

marcusmoore Bo ... dude he is not your friend. Botham.

marcusmoore Im go head and say bullshit

marcusmoore After hearing his parents' emotional testimony how could they come back with less than what the prosecutor recommended? Don't they know the prosecution communicates with the family and their recommendation would reflect that?

marcusmoore If they wanted her to serve 10 years they should have given her 15. She will now only serve 5.

marcusmoore it does not matter what botham wouldve done. he doesnt have the luxury of discretion, hes dead. hes no longer just a man, he is an example for the rest of america. and this jury just told black americans cops can kill them in their own homes and barely face consequences

marcusmoore Unbelievable. This interview seems like she's the victim instead of him. Um, big bad Texas.

marcusmoore 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

marcusmoore The fact they are sympathizing with the killer more than the victim is disgusting. The fact they are assuming what he wants is disturbing. To not acknowledge that forgiveness AND justice can coexist is pathetic.

marcusmoore They never put me on jury duty cases like this. Smh

marcusmoore You aunt Tom. 10 years really. The world is designed for people to pay for their wrong doings doesn’t matter how the person was like. You lookup something dealing weed for more than that. American is a fucked up country

marcusmoore Yo,didn't the cop break into the guys own house and kill him? Like the guy had nuthn to do with her.

marcusmoore she should have gotten more but even if some wanted to give her more and some less they had to come to an agreement so there would not be a mistrial. I would love to know why their decision was so quick.. 1 hour.

marcusmoore If he was white she would of never shot him. And there was text proof she is racist.

marcusmoore As an officer who did not even notice she was on the wrong floor and going to the wrong apartment should of never been one. She murdered that man. Even though he not here to forgive her, it’s wrong she only really getting 5 years. So sick of hearing it was a mistake.

marcusmoore They both should be ashamed of themselves. It seems like that had more sympathy for the killer than the victim. Not sure what world that black lady lives it but let’s see if something like this happens to her family would she be so convinced. White guy I get him, not his story.

marcusmoore Amber kept acting like she was the victim. And let’s not forget she was having an affair with her co-worker who is also married while everyone acting like she so remorseful

marcusmoore Are they fucking?

marcusmoore All Judge mammy was doing was just looking out for a friend.

marcusmoore What in the holy hell

marcusmoore Nope....

marcusmoore What I would say is the judge should have instructed them to stop short of considering what botham would have wanted, considering he was executed. At the very least they should have sentenced her to 28 years per the prosecutions request. They failed!

marcusmoore He said 'We all knew it was a mistake, but....'. For Christs sake, if it was a mistake, then you don't convict for murder.

marcusmoore tariqnasheed what kind of black woman is this? I’m sure you can name call her too

marcusmoore I just dont get it. 😕

Stop! Brandt Jean is allowed to show compassion and empathy... The judge? I don’t know... The jurors... It’s too much! What about Botham?

marcusmoore The sentence was way too light. It should have been at least 25 years. She took a mans life and they only gave her 10? Unacceptable. They let the emotions of the moment to take hold rather than thinking of the victim

marcusmoore I have people in the penitentiary serving much more time, for much less. He's right dont speak for the victim and assume hed be okay with a 10 year sentence. Do whats right according to the law, she murdered that man. Black Lives Don't Matter I Guess.

marcusmoore Truly pathethic the jury didnt not do its job and has more compassion for the murderer than the victim. Injustice

marcusmoore I want to know if the judge and the officer know AmberGuyger ... I have never seen such a compromising situation in a court room as I saw when the judge hugged her and the officer brushed her hair. Something isn't right.

marcusmoore Oh please 🙄 sick of these jurors going on national tv trying to explain their fuck up to the public happened after Trayvon Martin for example foh

marcusmoore I appreciate the compassion from the victim's brother but good lord why is everyone falling over themselves to feel bad for her? She walked into this guy's apartment and killed him in the blink of an eye.
