PARENTS of Tafida Raqeeb have won their "right to life" legal bid to fly the seriously ill five-year-old to Italy.
Mum Shelina Begum, 39, sobbed and yelled “we won, we won, we won” after the ruling in the High Court this morning.Tafida fell ill after blood vessels in her brain ruptured at home in Newham, East London, in FebruaryShe ran into the arms of family who have been at the case every day last month and hugged tearful husband Mohammed Raqeeb, 45.
The five-year-old is in a coma at Royal London hospital after suffering catastrophic brain injuries in February. Parents Shelina and Mohammed, of Newham, East London, pleaded for Tafida to go to a hospital in Italy and be kept alive hoping she improved and made a full recovery.
