'Parliament has not been prorogued. This is the unanimous judgement of all 11 Justices' The Supreme Court has ruled that Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament was unlawful [Tap to expand]

she said:"The decision to advise Her Majesty to prorogue Parliament was unlawful because it had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of Parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification."

He said prime minister's questions would not go ahead, but there would be"full scope" for urgent questions, ministerial statements and applications for emergency debates.Short of the inscrutable Lady Hale, with the giant diamond spider on her lapel, declaring Boris Johnson to be Pinocchio, this judgement is just about as bad for the government as it gets.

The PM said getting a deal was"not made much easier with these sort of things in Parliament or the courts", but insisted the UK would still leave on 31 October.Speaker John Bercow says the Commons will sit on Wednesday Lawyers for the government had argued the decision to prorogue was one for Parliament, not the courts.

The court may have fallen short of saying Boris Johnson had an improper motive of stymieing or frustrating parliamentary scrutiny, but the damage is done, he has been found to have acted unlawfully and stopped Parliament from doing its job without any legal justification. This is the most dramatic example yet of independent judges, through the mechanism of judicial review, stopping the government in its tracks because what it has done is unlawful.Unprecedented, extraordinary, ground breaking - it is difficult to overestimate the constitutional and political significance of today's ruling.Gina Miller led campaigners against the suspension of Parliament

Clear to see that they are all remainers… Even the Supreme Court ignores what the 17.4 million voted for, democracy, they don't know the meaning of the word..

biasedbbc

EU supporters siding with the EU. What a shock.

These fools are playing a dangerous game getting involved in politics

That brooch is amazing 🕷️🕸️

Why hasn't this woman retired? I thought the statutory retirement age for judges was 70. She's 74.

Parliament has been prorogued. You may not like it or consider it unlawful but it was definitely prorogued under a proclamation of the Queen. To say that it wasn't just flies in the face of reality.

This is a coup by tyrants and globalists!

Did someone just dig her out of the ground?

I found her pet

Medical science has come a long way this talking corpse is amazing science 😂😂😂😂😂

Traitors. You’ve now unleashed hell and this will also be the death of the biased treasonous BBC

Remainiac old hag.

They have no right whatsover to stick their noses into political business. What laws have been broken? And no explanation as to why the lower courts were wrong when they said 'nothing to do with us!' Yet another disgrace from the British legal system

That's it

Exiting times to be a lawyer and defend the Rule of Law!

Off with his Head 🤡🗡🧺

BBCWorld How the SC judges elected? Who give them the job?

BBCWorld How can he suspend parliament when he is just a lap dog of the queen. At he has guts

Democracy 6 borisjohnsonpm 0

Utterly outrageous decision by remainers

The people are not going to like this. The judges who ruled against democracy awarded Major and Miller legal aid. That won't be in the media.

And the decision was duly delivered as expected. The next government needs to legislate to make sure judges can never interfere in politics like this again.

These are the real enemies of the people!

Based on what law being broken?

Care Home Alert: Missing pensioner have you seen her?

Lesson for the world. When you lose sovereignty it is very hard to get it back even when the majority of votes have asked for it.

BBCPolitics Amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Lord Reed, current judge and next President of Supreme Court, sentenced baby rapist to only 5 years, released early and caught with thousands of indecent images. Who picks these judges?

Whom have probably been paid off by the EU

Good news but that is the most powerful/disturbing broach I've ever seen

Wow... That is the British Court of Justice... Hats off to the Judges...

Surprised that old biddy stayed awake long enough to read that statement

They will only be happy when the country riots and they blame the leavers... maybe the objections to beliver Brexit should be taken to the supreme courts for them to decide if the mps blocking the decision to leave the EU and extending article 50 .GBisajoke to rest of the world

How much did it cost remainers for to buy the judgment

So wrong!

Absolutely disgusted these remainer judges can interfere with this countries constitution. Pandora’s box is now open and this country is now royally &£%ed. Anyone can take the Government to court as long as you have enough money. Sad day. Uk democracy is dead and void!

How and who put this unelected eleven in these roles? I certainly don't remember voting them in. If they want to take power they need to be elected. Blair's Supreme Court needs to be repealed and go back to the Law Lords who stay out of politics.

BBCPolitics Isn’t she passed retirement age, no wonder law and order has gone to the dogs in this country

Mofo thug BorisJohnson is busted 😀 resigning when?

We now have a nakedly partisan, unelected, left-wing judiciary. These corrupt judges are taking us down a dangerous road.

'Mr. Johnson has suffered an extraordinary string of legal and political defeats...He...lost his majority in the House of Commons and lost the support of some members of his Conservative Party — including his own brother.'

BBCPolitics What a bloody MESS YOU SO CALLED MPs have git us into. SHAME ON YOU ALL AT LEAST BORIS AS BALL'S. UKLabour LibDems look after your own pockets you BACK STABBING MPs DISGRACEFUL

So the judges decided they rule democracy! So when will those same judges demand the mandate of 17.4 million voters be honoured?

Remainers war on Brexit looks to be winning. Brexit looking more and more like a distant dream ☀️🌤⛅️🌥☁️☁️☁️⛈⛈Parliament serves itself not the people.

BBCWorld It is written, God is good and His sure love endures forever. Therefore, what more do men look for?

BBCPolitics Johnson lied to everyone that proroguing parliament was about the Queen's speech yet has revealed it was concerned about his chaotic ERG plans to drive UK off a nodeal cliff edge..

11 remain judges bias decision by bias judges that's democracy

Absolutely disgraceful. How long before this lot are asking why nobody has any faith in politics, with a straight face. They should be ashamed. We really need big change in this country.

Utter shambles...

Let’s hope there’s enough room in prison for these traitors too

It will be tomorrow

Someone needs to tell her about that massive spider she has on her!!

Hahaha britons should be wiser in the next general election. Charlatan & a Simpleton PM.

lol ! I thought there was a real spider on my laptop screen. Nearly filled my boxers. Oawww...

BBCPolitics The end of the Constitutional Monarchy ~ now judges decide what Parliament can and cannot do.

Ahh the brooch gives game away. She is the black widow alright!

Will Boris now go to jail.

BBCWorld Jajaja....Piratita..!!!!....made in Trump

She should be at home tending her garden.

Traitors

Mass protests in every UK city every weekend.......

No country can leave the EU... The Irish voted to leave and they didn't... The UK voted to leave and it didn't... That is all you need to know

They don't want to leave all remainers, the supreme court elite ..looking after there jobs for the EU for there futures 🤔

BBCWorld jesus! she got a big ass spider in the shoulder someone should warn her!

I hate spiders but that broach is amazing

Have an election and then get rid of these traitors as well

Bullshit.

BBCWorld I wonder how all 11 judges voted in the referendum, if they voted stay surley that would make thier ruling biased

BBCWorld

Hopefully he doesn’t appeal

I wonder if the were co earst or paid off, to come to that decision. It's all do underhand these days, don't trust any of them.

BBCWorld Hopefully parliament can now come up with a tight definition of Brexit and allow voters to weigh in again, perhaps a choice between no Brexit, Brexit with a specific plan and a no plan Brexit.

The first chance to porogue Parliament again Boris will do it, who is Gina Miller ? Just an EU funded anti Uk scumbag.

Disgusting. The u.K. constitution is now forever changed. Time Brexit was done.

BBCPolitics And we have a eunuch PM. His balls have been handed to him on a legal plate.

That spider😧

Leavers like me are dying off scum, just low life cretins, but we are now much stronger after the elite establishments have totally and finally humiliated us again, even remainers are now disgusted with this final insult to oridianry people's democracy 😡

Love that spider broach. Venomous!

BBCPolitics Is this ruling based on the excessive amount of time or that the Government cannot prorogue if someone thinks that it is a time of crisis? Does this ruling take away the right of future Governments to decide when to reset the clock on their timetable? Has the SC made a law here?

So are they saying proroguing is ALWAYS illegal? If not, then when is it legal? If it's only illegal when important business is afoot define important and define how soon before or after proroguing can happen. This verdict raises many more questions than it answers.

BBCWorld That spider is scary

By the head figure if the Order of the Spider, 11 unelected old farts overrule an elected government Last time I witnessed similar was when watching Planet of the Apes! The only sovereign act to solve this mess is for the Queen to dissolve parliament & force a general election!

BBCWorld What a freak show! How's the judge allowed to make a political statement by wearing a giant spider? Spider:- 'She is the creative force, weaving the designs of life & fate.' The freakiest show on Earth, since Beneath The Planet of the Apes. So predictable

That brooch means business!

So People in Britain just lost their Vote to the UN/EU 😳

89% of UK citizens don't trust MP they been elected on promises they never keep so parliament should be prologue for indefinite

Just how rotten is this country? I am ashamed of them.

Do Judges run the country or does Parliament ?

BBCPolitics This is outrageous. So from now on Government has to apply to the Supreme Court to end a parliamentary session. Don't our courts have enough to do without taking over from the Queen?

BBCWorld Who is this woman?

Catching up on news now. Good to know, Justice UKSupremeCourt in UK is neither a reader of DailyMail MetroUK TheSun, nor considers the words of their RightWing journalists as Gospel... Great to see justice still exists in UK. Elite will still be villains of Brexit 😂

And yet libdems and labour still miraculously arranged their conferences in one week (as they were not happening during ‘normal’ shut down right!?) did the queen actually testify that Boris lied to her?

What kind of a weirdo wears a spider on their collar. Is that some kind of Globalist emblem of evil?

BBCWorld And there was me thinking it was the Queen who prorogued parliament.

Big spider 🕷.

Appeal

Unlawful? Which law is that then?

Democracy and Rule of Law Win Now...

BEAUTIFUL LADY, with her beautiful announcement, HELLNO, I know she didn't put it that way...🤷 just saying.

Unanimous decision speaks volumes!! Absolutely jaw dropping TBH but I’m not sure this changes any feelings out in society If anything I think this will frustrate feelings even further & people really do want this circus act to end....QUICKLY 🎪🤹🏼‍♀️ BrexitShambles SupremeCourt

Does this mean that a PM can never prorogue Parliament in future without the consent of the SC? I think the legals have now got their knickers in a twist!

BBCWorld Wow!

BorisJohnson Jacob_Rees_Mogg zatzi BrexitAlex arron_banks brexitparty_uk ZacGoldsmith BenGoldsmith LeaveMnsLeave In light of S Court ruling, can we take UKParliament Remainers to court on the decision not to respect the 2016 referendum result? Like Miller has done.

Out of curiosity how many of those judges were REMAIN, asking for a friend....!!

A Supreme Court with courage, unlike Roberts court with Trumps picks.

Wouldn't it be interesting to know which way the 11 supreme court judges voted in the Brexit referendum. You know, the referendum where 17.4 million, the majority, voted to leave the EU. The same 11 who have now voted to artificially influence the outcome of Brexit.

BBCPolitics

The powers that be have gone too hard, too soon: exposing themselves 🧛‍♀️

I was extremely happy to see Professor McGonagle found another job after the battle of Hogwarts

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall. Humpty Dumpty made a bad call. All the Supreme Court's women and men. Declared that the unelected PM lied again.

🕷️🕷️🕷️

B*st*ds the whole lot of em! Do I get the feeling that the establishment subversively creating anarchy, because this is where it’s going to end up. We the people are being treated like dirt!

Who the fuck is running this country? I've lost count how many times this government have been confounded in implementing a democratically held referendum been stymied.

Can’t wait for the end of government boogaloo

Why has she got such a big bug on her? 😂 (yes I know it’s a broach but my question still stands!)
