Mother 'who killed baby by rubbing heroin on her gums' gives the finger in court

A mother accused of killing her baby by rubbing heroin on the youngster’s gums to make her sleep gave the finger in court.

Nelligan, accused of killing one year-old daughter Jordy in October 2018 by rubbing heroin onto the baby’s gums, gurned and swore directly into the camera while in the dock.And after moving over to the witness stand, she continued to glare at journalists before swearing and gesticulating angrily towards her attorney.

Jordy’s dad Shane Smith had previously told police he’d seen Nelligan rub heroin onto Jordy’s gums around 15 times in a bid to make the youngster nod off. She is said to have told Smith that she did the same with her older kids, and would never do anything to harm any of her offspring. Nelligan was freed on bail after Wednesday’s hearing, but ordered not to take any drugs other than marijuana.Jordy died in October 2018. Her dad Shane Smith said he saw Nelligan rub a drug he believed to be heroin on her gums at least 15 times Despite the severity of the allegations facing Nelligan, she posted a Facebook photo of drugs and drug paraphernalia in June this year – eight months after her daughter’s tragic death – with the caption ‘Yay buddy.
