Guterres has strongly rejected claims by five human rights group that he hasn't condemned the Chinese government's detention of more than a million Muslims in the Xinjiang region, saying he has spoken out forcefully.

“I don’t think anyone has been more persistent and more clear in talking to the Chinese authorities in relation to this issue than myself,” he told reporters Wednesday. “It is absolutely not true that I’ve only done discreet diplomacy.” The letter was signed by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the International Commission of Jurists, the International Federation for Human Rights and the World Uyghur Conference.

Guterres said he will continue acting to guarantee that “all human rights in all circumstances are fully respected in that situation.”“It will mean to do everything that is necessary for human rights to be respected,” Guterres replied.

Detention of one Million Muslims on the basis of Faith is scandalously inhumanity, unconscienable, and enough to be the focus of global condemnation of China to set them unconditionally free. Religious belief and affiliation of choice is human basic rights

Condemning China not enough! Condemn India for atrocities in Kashmir! Condemn Israel for Palestinian genocide. Condemn S. Arabia & Sunni states for Yemeni genocide! Condemn U.S for atrocities in Afghanistan & Syria! Yes you need to condemn lot. So many rogue states everywhere.

If Islamists are causing problems in China, are breaking the laws, becoming a threat to the country, why would anyone condemn a country's sovereignty & leadership? LauMingshen

Wasn’t the problem that MBS & many other Muslim leaders sign a letter that they were ok with Chinese program for Muslims there? If Muslim leaders don’t speak out, what’s next.
