Smokers not backing down in fight for their rights

Putrajaya, on January 1, imposed a smoking ban at eateries. However, following complaints on loss of income by businesses, the ban has been deferred to next year. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 7, 2019.

A GROUP of disgruntled smokers have formed an association to fight Putrajaya’s smoking ban at eateries, which will take effect next year. The people behind the Malaysian Smokers Awareness Association told The Malaysian Insight that they, too, have rights, and it is unfair for the government to treat them unjustly.
