The woman who survived a sexual assault by Brock Turner is revealing her identity and telling her story.

For years, Chanel Miller was known in legal proceedings as "Emily Doe," the woman assaulted while unconscious by Brock Turner outside an on-campus fraternity house.Miller's author page on Penguin Random House's website describes her as a San Francisco resident and a writer and artist with a degree in literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

A jury found Turner guilty of assaulting Miller while she was incapacitated by alcohol in January 2015. The emotional victim impact statement Miller read at his sentencing went viral, serving as a rallying cry for victims of sexual abuse."My independence, natural joy, gentleness, and steady lifestyle I had been enjoying became distorted beyond recognition. I became closed off, angry, self-deprecating, tired, irritable, empty," Miller wrote.

Many people were enraged when Turner was sentenced to six months in jail in 2016 after his conviction for felony sexual assault, more than a year before the

He was the swimmer, right? Didn't the judge give him a stupid short sentence? If I remember correctly, there was a firestorm surrounding this.

You misspelled “rape”.

Very proud of you. You go girl. I’m impressed.

You go girl

Well, if there were enough single women for men that actually want a relationship then women wouldn't be getting raped. There are just too many single men and not enough single women that actually want a relationship, which is causing a lot of rape and a lot of men to turn gay.

Why?

Money can make many things happen

Who cares if she wrote a book, she was sexually assaulted and remained anonymous but now comes ou on her own time. Tht POS white privilege young man paid no price imo

And promoting her new book.....

I’m taking advantage of this woman’s shameless publicity plug to drag out The Moral Dilemma again. Because why the fuck not?

Women will lie for fame at the expense of someone else. If you are a man you are guilty on mere principle.

Can men have back that due process of confronting your accuser since women profit from accusations? One of many ways due process has been gutted for men

She is wrong. Had the attacker been black or any non-white man he would have been incarcerated, perhaps till eternity, in America's infamous 'private' jails.

A swty

This makes 100% sense why that White Judge let that scumbag off with little to know punishment. If it was white girl he rapped he would be in jail.

The accurate word is rape.

ASK EGYPT/INDIA OF GOD'S TIGER PAW...TODAY OR YESTERDAY...TOMORROW TO TODAYS YESTERDAY.

If you don't know, her story was she doesn't remember what happened that night.

Looks like she found her career. She can’t say Brock took everything away from her now. Lol

I hope she doesn't get death threats from assholes who hate rape survivors. I hope she is able to be safe.

She is getting paid, book deal

$

And promoting her book...

It's all about that $$$. Give me a break.

Shout it!

Was it really consensual?

Only in America is 'victim' elevated to 'celebrity.'

Who?

Stay away from liquor next time.

But why

Great that she is now able to find her voice and reclaim her life. Congrats on the book and keep moving forward.

'Drunken slattern who passed out in an alley now sees herself as a 'celebrity.' Only in America....

Learn

You are brave and fabulous thank you for speaking out! 💓

Only in America does 'victim' elevate to celebrity.....

I thought it was sexual assault, not attempted murder? What did she “survive” exactly?

HERO!

Grinning for the camera? Only in America does 'victim' translate to 'celebrity.'

Raped*

Rich can rape any American without consequences.

She is beautiful.

BROCK SHOULD BE LOCKED UP FOR GOOD

Ahhh she wasn't a blonde blue eye girl which would've gotten him sentenced to jail. How qwhite of the justice system.

Plenty of time left to collect that debt in full.

Courageous woman. TRUTH to power! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
