A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja on Thursday ordered that a 25-year-old woman, Lauratu Mohammed, who pleaded guilty to abandoning a two-month-old baby, be remanded in a correctional centre, pending sentencing.

The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, who gave the order, adjourned the matter until Sept. 30 for sentencing. She said without provocation, the defendant intentionally and violently dumped her two-month-old baby, exposing him to danger.
