MP wants govt to stop shariah court’s discrimination against women

THE shariah court’s discrimination against women must end now, said Maria Chin Abdullah, urging the government to set up a system to protect their rights. The Petaling Jaya MP said many divorced Muslim women are “defenceless” against the shariah court, especially when it comes to getting their ex-husbands to provide maintenance payments.
