PETALING JAYA: Lawyer Syahredzan Johan has received a death threat on social media after he suggested that controversial preacher Zakir Naik's permanent resident status be rescinded.

“So I got this on FB. Not sure what powers he thinks I have, ” he posted via his Twitter handle @syahredzan.

Syahredzan, who is Iskandar Puteri MP Lim Kit Siang's political secretary, also shared screenshots of the death threat.“... kau usir dr zakir naik , aku akan cari sampai dapat dan aku akan pisahkan kepala babi kau tu dari badan kau, ini sumpah aku demi agama islam dan bangsa melayu. Kalau berani cubalah. .”

Syahredzan is expected to lodge a police report on the threat at the Dang Wangi police station today .
