The man who raped and murdered Melbourne woman Eurydice Dixon will return to court for a plea hearing on Thursday before he is sentenced.

Jaymes Todd - then 19 - followed Dixon on the June 12 last year as she made her way home from a comedy gig and attacked the the 22-year-old at Princes Park in Carlton North.

A member of the public found her body just before 3am the next morning. Todd handed himself in to police before formally pleading guilty to sexually assaulting and killing Ms Dixon.
