The lawsuit argues that the law sets an unconstitutional requirement for the presidency, calling it part of “the Democrats’ ongoing crusade to obtain the President’s federal tax returns in the hopes of finding something they can use to harm him politically.” The Republican National Committee and right-wing group Judicial Watch have also filed lawsuits against the state this week.
Since it would apply to the 2020 presidential primary, the aim of the lawsuits are to block the law from ever taking effect.: California Governor Gavin Newsom said in a press release that the state has a “moral duty to do everything in their power to ensure leaders seeking the highest offices meet minimal standards, and to restore public confidence.

If he wasn't afraid of what was on his tax returns, he wouldn't go to such lengths to keep them hidden. These are not the actions of an innocent person.
I mean it is clear at this point that whatever he is hiding in those tax returns is too embarrassing to come out so he goes around suing states. Trust me Trump, California will still be Blue regardless of you being on the ballot or not.
Someone needs to do everyone a favor and leak his tax returns. Problem solved, no lawsuits and done with the illusion that he's anything more than a conman.
