Homen Wong, 20, is accused of operating a DJI Mavix Pro, weighing 0.743kg, at the open field next to Sengkang LRT Station on 8 February last year.

SINGAPORE — A man who operated a drone within 5km of Seletar Airport and Paya Lebar Air Base was charged in court on Tuesday , the second reported case of individuals charged over drone activity in two months.

Wong faces one count of operating a small unmanned aircraft outdoors for recreation purpose without a valid Class 2 activity permit, a breach under Section 72F of the Air Navigation Order.Wong's plead guilty mention has been fixed for 3 September. Last month, two men were charged in court over recreational drone use in the first case involving individuals.

Ed Chen Junyuan and Tay Miow Seng were charged on 5 July with operating drones without permits near Paya Lebar Air Base. Their cases are still pending.
