The way to prevent gun violence is by fixing what ails our society: Address socioeconomic inequality, universal (mental) healthcare, get lead out of our water, end the drug war, end the other wars, etc. “Ban guns” is feel-good, ineffective policy.

I don’t support bans, but a conversation must be had between pro 2A groups and gun control advocates to find common ground. Although I’m not a fan of registries, I’m ok with a national registry for firearms and a national standard of 25 y/o as minimum age to purchase guns...
