In Department Order No. 384 dated July 29, the Secretary told the NBI that it is “directed and granted authority to conduct an investigation and case build-up on the alleged graft and corrupt practices in the PCSO and its various operations, and, if evidence warrants, to file appropriate charges against persons found responsible therefor.”
The Secretary issued the department order after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered last Friday the closure of all small-town lottery and other forms of gambling licensed by the PCSO. Meanwhile, Philippine National Police chief General Oscar Albayalde said that he has already directed all police commanders to implement the President’s directive.
