Clive Palmer paid just $1 for his Queensland Nickel business seven years before it collapsed over fatal cashflow problems, a liquidator has told a court in Brisbane.Kelly Anne-Trenfield, one of the liquidators suing Mr Palmer and his companies, brought up the $1 price tag in cross-examination
Mr Palmer had previously declined to say how much he paid to take the nickel operation off BHP Billiton's hands, but reportedly said it was below its $2.5 billion replacement cost. Chris Ward, barrister for Mr Palmer's companies, asked Ms Trenfield:"Are you sure … that Mr Palmer paid $1 for the refinery?"
Hmmm... that's a lot of money 😆
Every bit of your information in this article is false and useless. So what that he spent his own money on whatever he wanted? The liquidator/administrators froze $500 million is cash assets, mean't to pay workers and contractors. Which they kept/stole. FACTS MATTER.
That is correct. QNI was going to be shut down, and the employee's shafted, by BHPBilliton. If Palmer hadn't taken over employees would have been sacked 2009, 7 YEARS BEFORE it actually closed, so Townsville got another 7 yrs employment.
This man is a contemptuous person who for some unknown reason Queenslanders still keep believing in. Queenslanders is welded to people who are the business scum as long as they say 'mining' then they are God. Queensland wake up.
kuku27 Is it?
The legal system is setup to protect and aid economic criminals 🥳
