All considerations must be looked at before the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) can decide as to whether it will recommend or not another extension of the implementation of martial law in Mindanao, a military spokesperson disclosed Wednesday.

Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesperson, reiterated that the military have yet to make a decision on talks about the possible extension of martial law in Mindanao.This, after National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., revealed on Tuesday that he is inclined to recommend the extension of martial law in the area for one more year.As for the AFP, Arevalo said: “The National Security Adviser Sec. Hermogenes Esperon, Jr.

The military also consider as important the assessments of local chief executives and other government agencies, he noted. But Arevalo said that while such was the case in Davao City, it may not be the same in other areas like in Sulu.
