A London constable on trial for breach of trust gave a riveting account in court Monday of leaking information to a high-profile Toronto lawyer to bring down a ring of corrupt high-ranking police officers and crime bosses.
Currado, 49, pleaded not guilty to charges of obstructing justice, breach of trust and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Currado testified he thought he was doing the right thing, exposing a huge ring of corruption, without having a clear idea how to do that.He got nothing for providing the information, Currado testified.
An accomplished pianist who drove a Mercedes one day and a Lexus the next, Jovanovich presented himself as a successful engineer from Israel, Currado testified. Later, Jovanovich said he was a trained killer who’d worked for Israeli intelligence, the police officer said. In return, Jovanovich arranged to get Currado out of some personal trouble, although it was unclear in testimony Monday if some of that trouble was concocted by Jovanovich in the first place.

How can a police officer ducked into this scam. One would think he would have check these people out first. Not difficult to do in this day and age.
