Solicitor General Jose Calida has traded barbs with Integrated Bar of the Philippines and human rights lawyer Chel Diokno.

GAG ORDER. Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, Solicitor General Jose Calida and Integrated Bar of the Philippines counsel Andre Palacios are issued gag orders by the Supreme Court over a Writ of Kalikasan petition. All photos by Rapplerinvolving fishermen from Zambales and Palawan after counsels traded barbs over the media for some time.

Calida said the fishermen sought the help of the Philippine Navy and told a navy lawyer they were deceived into filing the petition."Bilang abogado na matagal nang tumutulong sa mga mahihirap, sanay na ako sa mga pagbabanta at pananakot mula sa bibig ng mga may kapangyarihan.

Supreme Court Spokesman Brian Keith Hosaka said the en banc also granted on Tuesday IBP's motion for extension to file the pleading that would set the course of what would happen next. The lawyers have until Friday, July 19, to do so.
