The Court of Appeal in Abuja has declared the detention of former National Security Adviser Colonel Sambo Dasuki retired since December 29, 2015, by the Department of State Security Service as illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional and ordered his release on conditional bail.
The two sureties shall be serving public servants, not below the status of level 16 officers in either state or public service of the Federal or any of its agencies and shall produce valid documents of his or her status to the registrar of the federal high court in Abuja. A federal high court Judge justice Ijeoma Ojukwu had on July 2, 2018, admitted Dasuki to bail on conditions the NSA complained to be too harsh and stringent for him his family to perfect especially deposit of N100m to the high court registrar by his sureties before he can be released on bail.
“This error occasioned a miscarriage of Justice by the failure to award damages which is a natural consequence for the finding that the fundamental right of the appellant has been grossly violated; upon which the court heavily deprecated the action of the 1st and 2ndRespondents. “The point I am putting across is that effective judicial protection of human rights is an indispensable component of order and good governance so as not to weaken the confidence of the people in seeking for judicial enforcement and remedies of their rights.
Will they obey?
Buhari release dasuki
In this lawless country...i wonder if they will respect the court order this time..
The question now is 'Will the Ruga Man honour this court order? He said he is fighting corruption but flaunts every court order. Fighting corruption indeed.
It's the duty of the DSS boss to release him following the court order. If he fails to do so, then he should be arrested and prosecuted for violating court order
I hope Buhari will listen and do the needful now
We hope he listens but if it happens it’s gonna be a surprise.
Till 2023 before he will be release no need to waste judicial time. This Government does not obey court orders
How many times Even the supreme court give the order, they will not grant or obey it. ....
Oluwa ose ooO. Was discussing is matter with my uncle in the car yesterday morning......buhari giran walai 😂😂😂
The man has been in detention further above the constitutional detention time limit. Release this man and zazakky they can be monitored and prevented from taking any irrational decision.
MBuhari NGRPresident should obey the Appeal Court Order. this is democracy - not military rule. DSS should obey this court order in the interest of peace and transparency.
It won't happen. Just watch and see.
Buhari will not obey
NO! If the Appeal Court or Dasuki himself can bring back the soldiers and officers we have lost in the fight with insurgents when he was NSA after diverting the funds to buy weapons, then and only then should he be released. Until then, he remains locked up!
