SHAH ALAM: The High Court here today rejected PKR-linked Muslim preacher Wan Ji Wan Hussin’s appeal against his conviction for a charge of making seditious remarks against the sultan of Selangor seven years ago.Halim said the statements by Wan Ji were clearly an insult to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

“Although as citizens we are given a lot of freedom, it has limits and is subject to laws and norms.” He was charged under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948, which carries a fine not exceeding RM5,000, a jail term of up to three years or both.
