I can't help but agree with the DOJ that without the citizenship question, there is no other way to count the number of citizens in our country. I don't know why some folks find it offensive or irrelevant? But we have way too many people who challenge all good/bad issues.
The Census is done to get an idea of the number of citizens there are. I don't ever remember getting a questionnaire. I do remember high tension in Oregon when Census takers came, and visited all of the private property to get a head count. It was dangerous for all involved.
