A survey of more than 100 undocumented families in Ireland found that 68% of undocumented children were born here, writes emma_okelly

She is one of an estimated 2,000-3,000 children and young people who are living in Ireland as "undocumented".

"When my school friends began going on school trips, when it came to the Leaving Cert and filling out the CAO, I went through that process but I knew it would lead me nowhere". It is impossible to know for sure, but the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland estimates that 2,000-3,000 children and young people in Ireland are living as undocumented.

Now, only children with an Irish parent have that entitlement. It is the one key difference between the undocumented here and in the United States.

emma_okelly They should be deported, illegal is illegal no matter how you dress it up not fair on the people who go through the proper channels to live here.

emma_okelly There is a good reason why we don’t (and never should again ) incentivise illegal immigrants to immediately get pregnant and give birth in Ireland as that is simply manipulating and distorting the immigration system which makes it unfair to people who follow the rules.

emma_okelly Illegals. There. I fixed it.

emma_okelly Send them home. They have no right making demands of us.

emma_okelly Undocumented- who didn’t do their job on the ports and airports to allow illegals in? Was it an accident? Doubt it.

emma_okelly Why not say Illegal. If someone entered your house without permission would you call them ‘undocumented’

emma_okelly

emma_okelly I would prefer if they were deported back to their parent's homeland.

emma_okelly morningireland RTERadio1 interesting piece but why not ask even once where her parents (and technically her too) are from and whether they could return and apply legally for residency in Ireland? morningireland

emma_okelly Bet it took all of 5 minutes to find that 100 .... you should give the footage to the border protection gang ( that’s if we have 1 ) and round them up for a free flight out of Dublin Airport

emma_okelly Why was their birth not registered? Parents who ignore basic rules should not be supported by the state.

emma_okelly When can expect the next piece promoting the open borders agenda of some taxpayer funded NGO by our objective balanced state broadcaster?

emma_okelly Irresponsible parenting. You don't go to a foreign country without the paperwork in place and hope for the best. Economic migrants should really know better. Get your documentation in order, then make the move. Not the other way around.
