Diezani Bribe: INEC Director Bags Six-year Jail Term For Receiving N45 Million | Sahara Reporters

Justice Yusuf Birnin-Kudu of Jigawa State High Court sitting in Gumel has sentenced a Deputy Director of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Auwal Jibrin, to six years in jail for unlawful enrichment and gratification.

Auwal Jibrin and Garba Ismaila were sentenced on Friday following their prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Kano zonal office. Justice Birnin-Kudu held a judgment that the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt “all the elements and facts of the case as contained in the charge and the testimonies of prosecution witnesses and exhibits tendered”.
