Liew Vui Keong says there are many archaic laws that are no longer relevant and need to be reviewed.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Liew Vui Keong said it was time for the country to consider a restorative over a punitive justice system.

Liew said Mahathir, in his address, said the government must ensure that any law that is introduced or amended is just and upholds the rule of law on top of ensuring that the process is inclusive. "The law reform process must always consider all quarters including NGOs and minorities to ensure that they are inclusive, holistic and effective.

Best thing I've heard & read today. Restorative not punitive! Hear this all you lot who derive satisfaction from whipping, maiming & torture. If you know the meaning of restoring the body and spirit that is.

Another big leap for MalaysiaBaharu. I really hope this can be materialized.
