Huawei defends itself against claims it violates intellectual-property rights, a day after a Texas jury found the Chinese tech giant had misappropriated a Silicon Valley startup's trade secrets

SHENZHEN, China—Chinese technology giant Huawei Technologies Co. defended itself against allegations that it violates other companies’ intellectual-property rights, saying it has never been forced by a court to pay fines for stealing secrets.

Huawei’s comments come a day after a Texas jury found the company misappropriated the trade secrets of Silicon Valley chip startup CNEX Labs Inc., but declined to award damages.
