UPDATE: The Constitutional Court rules Jiba and Mrwebi should not be struck from the Advocates' Roll.

JOHANNESBURG - The General Council of the Bar failed in their Constitutional Court application to have Nomgcobo Jiba and her colleague, Lawrence Mrwebi, struck from the Advocates' Roll on Thursday. The court unanimously ruled that the GCB failed to show the striking off of the roll was a constitutional issue and dismissed the case.In 2016, the Bar succeeded in its application before the High Court in Pretoria to have Mrwebi and Jiba's names removed from the roll, with the judge ruling that the two were not"fit and proper" to be advocates. The axed advocates took the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal , which ruled that Jiba should remain an advocate.

Who said misusing government institutions for personal gain don't pay off.

The law is the law and must be respected - they should be struck if in the right and proper way. But these two advocates have no business being able to work in SA. Repugnant. A symbol of all that's wrong with this country.

If you black and play the race card you can win in any sitiation👏👏👏👏👏

But ofcourse some dim wit says this won't have that much of an impact on the judiciary as exoneration is only limited to a minimal requirement to practice as an advocate but a different process still has carte blanch to dismiss them from the NPA even post this Con Court judgement

That's great👌🏾... persecution is just too much. So evil!!!!

That ruling must have pissedoff the eNCA mercenaries.

Sound judgement has prevailed once again💪🏼

Anyone who has ever been close to Zuma or worked under him is automatically considered corrupt, she/he is prosecuted, vilified, humilited and denegrated by those who do not want transformation in this country. The consequences of resisting transformation will be dire soon✊🏿

That's great news indeed.
