UNITED NATIONS - Iran’s United Nations ambassador accused the United States on Monday of showing no respect for international law by imposing new sanctions on Iran, describing tensions between the pair as “really dangerous” and not the right atmosphere for talks.

He spoke as the U.N. Security Council met behind closed doors at the request of the United States to discuss Iran. “The situation is really dangerous and all we should do is try to de-escalate,” said Ravanchi, calling on the United States to withdraw its naval ships from the Gulf region and “move away from economic warfare against the Iranian people.”

“We have been discussing how to move forward with our European colleagues,” Ravanchi said. “It is incumbent on them to compensate what we have lost as a result of the U.S. withdrawal from the nuclear deal.”Most U.N. sanctions imposed on Iran were lifted in January 2016 when the U.N. nuclear watchdog confirmed that Tehran fulfilled commitments under a 2015 nuclear deal with Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia and the United States.

Basically it's a conflict of interests. Iran isn’t some poor country being bullied by US nor is US the champion of democracy & human rights. It's Iran’s foreign policy goals to gain interest in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon & Yemen and support to al Houthi, KH, Hizbollah & Assad regime

Hard to argue with that.

Another Gaslighting story! *yawn* unfollow!

Yeah, so it seems IRANIAN RESPECT is what shot down $300M worth of U.S. aircraft

thespybrief

Iran, the country that allowed the seizure of an embassy and the kidnapping of diplomats is making accusations that another doesn't respect international law? LOL.

Well, he is not wrong.

Sure the atmosphere isn’t good since they farted and fluffted 😷 . Who doesn’t respect who

What is happening now is that USA thinks that tightening sanctions will get Iran to negotiate. But Iran feels it will not talk to USA anyway

US Respects those who deserve it and earn it. And shites on those that don’t. Go yell death to America Some more. go check runway maybe another pallet of cash is there for you? Oh ya thats right your b*tch obbummer who you played like fiddle isnt POTUS anymore. 🍿

When your regime stops its terror, talk about international law

U.S. citizens respect international law. Trump has no respect for any law! Please don't blame us for his idiocy.

jakejakeny let the sanctions and other penalties be increased then.

It's okay, the administration doesn't respect domestic law either. Don't feel too bad.

lol Iran the largest terrorist in the world

Okay

Thanks but I don't need anyone else's envoy to see that.

Why would ANYONE negotiate with America? We willfully and unjustly reneged on an agreement (for the millionth time in our history). Any agreement (written or otherwise) entered into by this government isn't worth two shits. Our word is GARBAGE.

Iran is a terrorist government, that’s all.

I mean what would the US do if they caught an Iranian drone flying alongside the east coast? Can you really blame them?

Good defense! You can’t just undermine other country’s sovereignty! Is Iran part of US border What is your drone doing there ?

Trump thinks he is above the law. He does not speak for me!!!

US takes these manners of blows for Britain and her empire all the way right up to their guts. At the end of the day, one uses up her wealth to fight needless wars, while the other goes home with black gold. What a blissful relationship.

NgigeNjoroge

dude... Iran is the only ones that has been threatening. The US simply won't do busy with Iran or specifically entities that chooses to support Iran. Iran threatened to supersede uranium enrichment. Iran attacked shipping vessels. I ran shot down UAVin international waters

Now they are playing hardball.

Choice..

sfrantzman

They're right about that at least.

The regime of Iran is falling
